Checking her temp is so much work

My 18 month is sick she’s been having fevers all day and I have to keep an eye and give her Tylenol but she won’t let me check her with a regular thermometer- like the one under her armpit. She cries/fights me and I don’t want to put her through more pain she already feels awful so ...... Anyone use the ear or forehead ones where it takes less time??? They are more pricey so I want another parents opinion!! Please help!!!!!
