Does getting your ears pierced hurt?

I'm wanting to know, I'm thinking about re-piercing my ears because my mom got them pierced when I was 6 weeks old and there's just holes in my ears that will never fully go away and it just doesn't look good to me. The back of the holes have grown together and I can't get an ear ring in anymore so I have to go get it done again. Someone told me to just SHOVE the ear ring in but I'm not about to get an infection so, yeah. 
Also tips on how to clean them and stuff would be great.

Go to an actual piercing salon, not a mall kiosk. It will heal better and hurt much less. They will also definitely be able to re-pierce the same hole, which could be hard to do with the piercing gun they use at malls.

It hardly hurts. Feels like if you pinched your ear with you pointer finger and thumb. I have re- pierced my ears at home before and it doesn’t turn out even plus they get infected super quick(not a big deal but it doesn’t feel great to sleep on) so just go get them cleaned and follow the instructions given.

Do not get them pierced by a piercing gun if you’ve already had them done. Go to a well respected piercing/tattoo shop and speak to them. It will barely hurt. These shops are regulated and 10000% cleaner then “Claires” and type shops.

I got my ears re-pierced when I was 18. It did hurt, but not enough that I remember it too intensely. Please don’t shove something through your ear yourself! It could go through at the wrong angle or something (and like you said, risk of infection).

I got my second holes done at claires, one lady was new at it and it was torture lmao the other lady did just fine. I don't remember it being terribly painful, like sharp pinches maybe
