How do you feel ?

How do you ladies and gentlemen feel about circumcising? It’s going to hurt my heart that my son has to get in when i have him in 2 month . I’ve been seeing a lot of controversy about it lately . I’d love to hear some opinions.

I’m not going to do it because I don’t believe in the permanent, elective alteration of newborns (or any human) when they’re incapable of consenting.  I understand that it’s a tradition and that people will do it if they want, but I encourage you to actually research it on your own. Doing it just because it’s common isn’t a good enough reason. European countries are starting to outlaw it, just an example of how popular opinion is beginning to change.

why do you HAVE to would be my first question

I did it with my older son and will do it with this one. He never showed any signs of discomfort from it. 1 friend I know didn't do it and it caused urinary/kidney issues and he needed surgery when he was 2 to circumcise him and fix the kidney problem.

I circumcised my first and will again with my one on the way. I think it’s best mostly for health reasons and it was so easy to potty train. He didn’t cry at all or show any discomfort and the nurses teach you how to properly take care of it before you leave the hospital.

We’re having a girl. But if we were to have a boy, DH and I would not circumcise. I’ve heard of way too many stories where things going wrong during circumcision.
Also you may want to check if your insurance covers circumcision . Where I live circumcisions are considered cosmetic procedures and  are Not covered by most insurance .

Unless it's for religious or medical reasons there's really no reason to circumcise your baby. If you don't want it done, don't let people pressure you into it. Xx

I would think about why you would circumcise him. I personally think it’s genital mutilation and believe that permanently altering someone’s body without their consent is wrong.
All of the men on my husband’s side (10) are intact. People often tout that it’s “cleaner” to circumcise, but in his 28 years, my husband has only had 1 UTI (from a hospital stay) and 1 yeast infection (that he got from me). 
It’s definitely a decision only you and his father can make, but since you’re asking I feel like you have your doubts. 
Best of luck in making your decision. Unfortunately, people will judge you either way. I’d say do whatever you can live with ya know? My sister circumcised her son without a second thought, and she has no regrets.

it's illegal to do to girls so it should be for boys as well. it's their body so they can choose when they are older.  it's definitely a human rights violation and anywhere from 100-250 baby boys die in the us from routine infant circumsicion. He will be born perfect,keep him that way 😀

I️ was scared as a new mom having to let him be alone for a procedure but we had him circumcised! He didn’t come back crying and when I️ did diaper changes he didn’t show signs of discomfort. Only problem we had was my fault I️ wasn’t pulling the skin far back enough during diaper changes so s it healed the skin stuck together (which could have caused him to get an infection) so his pediatrician at the time just simply pulled the skin back and separated it again and gave me ointment to put on it! That’s when he was screaming and I️ felt terrible but it’s something we just do with all the boys in our family!

It’s a religious thing for us.  He will be circumcised, if it’s a he.
