weaning our toddlers... what's your method??

I want to wean my 22 month old. I loved nursing its just kinda the end of the road for me. I want to know what you have done... what's a successful way of limiting breastfeeding for a child this age? as I am writing this my little one is climbing on me and grabbing my shirt. whenever he gets the slightest bit bored he just comes up to me and begs for milk...

I did the vinegar on my nipple for my 12 month old. She only tasted it once and hated it. 
I weaned her from all daytime feedings doing this method and just nurse at nighttime but I easily could’ve weaned her completely using the vinegar if I wanted

My boy has started to cut back since writing this. Two things are helping, just keep asking if he wants juice instead of milk and showing him that my nipples are hurting and cracked. He really understood that when I showed him and told him it hurt. He looks all sorry and doesnt try to nurse then.

I’m 14 weeks pregnant and my milk has already turned back to colostrum and I believe almost completely dried up. My 20 month still wants to nurse several times a day and all night. Everything I read says toddlers usually stop wanting it when the milk changes but of course not mine.

I’m no where near being ready to wean my baby since she’s only 3 months but I’ve read that putting vinegar on your nipple is very effective and your baby won’t ask again because of the bad taste.
