A few days ago my son would not stop fussing. I just could not find anyway way to smooth him. I was getting frustrated and discouraged. I had mountains of house work to catch up on, but I couldn't get a lick of it done with a fussing baby. Then I remembered I saw a video on Facebook where a dad was taking care of his newborn baby, while his wife was away. The baby was crying and fussing so he gave the baby a shirt that the mother had recently worn which of course still had her scent on it. The baby calmed down immediately! I decided I was going to try the same thing. I went into my room and found my old doll. My doll used to be my best friend while I was growing up. I had my doll sitting on a bunch of my clothes in my room so naturally the doll had my scent on it. I gave it to my fussing son and immediately he calmed down. My heart melted. He has now pulled my 24 year old doll out of retirement. I hope it makes him feel just as safe and happy as it did me 😊💙.
