My best friend (Angel) and I planned to go to South Padre for Spring Break. We were supposed to stay with her family. She asked me if I was bringing my boyfriend (Cory) and I told her I didn’t know yet, but asked if it was okay with her if I did want to bring him. She said that was perfectly fine and that it would be fun.

Fast forward 2 weeks later (1 week before Spring Break)

She tells me that she has invited a girl that she KNOWS I do not like. She asked me if it was a problem and I said I wished that she had asked me first, this lead to her completely flipping her shit and saying “I shouldn’t have to ask you to bring someone, EYE planned this trip for us.”

I told her I was uncomfortable going 9 hours away from home with a girl I didn’t like. Especially since we were going in my car and I didn’t want to be around her for a minute much less a 9 hour car ride.

She then told me that if the girl I didn’t like couldn’t go then she wouldn’t allow me to bring my boyfriend either. (Even though she’s the one that asked me if I was bringing him, told me she was okay with it and he has now taken off work much to his father’s displeasure ((he works for his dad))) She called this “being fair” because she had originally wanted this to be just a girl’s trip for the two of us. I was upset about this because had she just told me this from the beginning I would have had no problem with going just the two of us, but now it’s an issue because Cory has already taken off work and is super excited for this trip, as am I!

But that being said I’m not going to put myself in an uncomfortable situation.

Me and my boyfriend decided to go to Colorado instead of Padre so we didn’t have to deal with the drama, but today I had a total meltdown because I feel like my best friend doesn’t care how I feel about this situation, and I don’t like the idea of a girl, that until previously NEITHER of us liked, going on me and Angel’s Spring Break that we’ve envisioned since we were young.

So I texted her and asked if the deal was still on, if Cory didn’t go then Lillus wouldn’t go, and she said no the deal was not still on and that I just needed to suck it up and go with them regardless of how it makes me feel because it’s what she wants.

I don’t know what to do. I love my best friend with all my heart but I feel she takes advantage of me and doesn’t care how I feel..
