Breaking your water?

I'm a ftm, I seem to see a lot of people that have said "the doctor broke my waters" does that mean he shoved his hand up and broke the sac? I'm confused someone please explain haha :/

No they use an amino hook.

They use a thing that looks like a crochet needle to pop it. I've had to do it all 3x be my water obviously doesn't break on its own lol

They usually use a small tool, however when the nurse went to check my cervix it made my water break lol.

Yea my sister in law got her water broken by the doctor and she said he did stick his fingers and popped the water out and few hours later she was in labor

I think they use a tool like a hook and pop it. That's what my mom said anyways. She had to have her water broken with her first (my brother). She said you don't really feel it though. Just like pressure for a second.
