Would this name be too mean?

Our last name is Gnizak (pronounced Knee-Zack) and we love the name Jack. Is Jack Gnizak too awful?

You could name him john Patrick, Jack is short for that.  I think it's fine, I have to admit, I laughed a little when I said it in my head.  I went to HS with a kid name Jeff Neff.  I chuckled when I first heard it too, but it was memorable.

I say meh because as a middle school teacher, I hear all sorts of nicknames kids give each other...and am guilty of it myself as long as I know the kid doesn't mind it. If it's what you like, go for it. After all, I like Ian Finley for a boy...Ian Fin...bless it.
