Anyone ever had vulvovaginitis?

I know it's a personal question but I'm only asking because I think I have it. I went to bed fine last night and woke up with really itchy, really inflamed, hugely swollen labia minora. I made a doctor appointment for Monday because it's bearable enough to get through the weekend. Anyone ever had symptoms they'd be willing to share or treatment that was used? I'm just a little scared because I've never had this happen before.
