Waiting for natural mc- what to expect?

I'm currently 7w4d but it seems the baby stopped developing just shy of 6weeks. I have to go back for another scan in a week, but the doctor said I may miscarry naturally before then. He hasn't yet mentioned the D&C or med options; I'm assuming that will come after the next scan once he can be more certain. This is my first pregnancy after trying for nearly a year. I know all miscarriages are different but I'm really anxious/nervous/scared about what to expect and how to prepare. Obviously I'm an emotional wreck too, but the fear of the unknown is amplifying everything. I know how hard this is to go through, but if any of you would be willing to give me any heads up or pointers (without causing you to relive something if you're not up for it), I'd greatly appreciate it. So sorry to everyone who has had to go through this. My heart is heavy for all of us.
