Pre ejaculate

Ok sorry if I sound completely clueless but I think I experienced this for the first time this morning and I was somehow really surprised!

I mean I've slept with a reasonable number of men and been in a few long term relationships but have never (as far as I know) had this happen.

I'm seeing a guy who's in the military, we have sex every time we see each other which is only once every couple of weeks, by which time we are usually quite excited...

So this morning I reached down there for some foreplay and he was very hard but as soon as I made some hand movements he became completely wet! I could tell it wasn't cum as it had a thinner consistency. It really surprised me at first and I didn't know whether I should carry on but I did and there wasn't any more wetness... until we eventually had sex and he came.

Just wondering about other people's experiences.... Is this a regular thing for some men?

It was kind of surprising but also a turn on and he didn't act like it was strange in any way!
