Menstrual Cup Question

Hello ladies :) I recently purchased my first ever menstural cup, the "Diva Cup". I've never used a menstural cup before, and I have to admit, I'm a little bit nervous. My period is due to start in a couple of days. My question is: Can I use a menstural cup even when I am not on my period? I feel as though it would be easier to practice inserting and removing the cup before I start bleeding. Thanks!
