Mucous plug, dilating/contractions

So for the last 3 days i have been loosing bits of my mucous plug like the top picture and then today i wake up to the bottom picture. But still no dilating!!!!! Someone tell me what to do to get this kick started! Been having contractions for weeks but too irregular to dilate. Spent 3 days in hospital a week ago!
