Hydrosalpinx - tube removal or tubal ligation before IVF?
Hi all-
I have history of endometriosis, two ectopic pregnancies (both treated with Mtx), and hydrosalpinx in the left tube that they have seen in the past but not in my most recent ultrasound. We have decided with our new RE that

is our only option. We will be going over initial test results and making a plan to move forward but i want to look into all of my options before moving forward. At my initial appointment with her we discussed options for treating (and not treating) the hydrosalpinx. My previous doc wanted to go in and remove the tube, my new doc discussed how that surgery can potentially be damaging to the ovaries and your egg reserve, and mentioned tubal ligation is another option. The other concern is depending on how involved the endo is, it could lead to a bigger surgery (bowel resectioning potentially). I have some questions I’m hoping someone else can answer (with success stories!)
1. Has anyone left their hydrosalpinx untreated and had a healthy

pregnancy?
2. Can they do an egg retrieval before surgery to remove or treat hydrosalpinx (or during the same procedure)?
3. Has anyone had a successful

pregnancy after tubal ligation? What is the recovery time for that?
Thanks everyone!!!
