I am 1cm 70% effaced 36 wks pregnant 2nd second baby she is at station -3 but moves up and down

So true! I find it strange that many providers still do vaginal exams before labour. It's not research based practice. All it does is cause women to think they will go into labour any minute. Or else it causes women anxiety thinking they won't go into labour any time soon. And what we know is that how dilated we are makes no difference as far as WHEN we go into labour.

I was 80% effaced and 1 cm dilated at 37 weeks and I was at a -1 head station. I still had my little one at 39w5d (first baby). My SIL was also pregnant at the same time as me and she was 4 cm dilated at 37 weeks and she also didn’t have her baby until 39w5d (her 3rd baby). There’s really no telling.

i stayed 1cm for 2 weeks with my first. my friend just had her baby anf she was 4cm and she still lasted another week. So it could still be a little longer
