Question

Have anyone every had their bartholin gland become swollen?? If so can you inform me of what I shall do.

Hi love, so sorry to hear that you've got a Bartholin cyst. I had one last year and it was incredibly painful. Towards the end, I could barely walk comfortably. Now, if the cyst is not infected (i.e, you have a fever, chills, fluid leaking from the cyst) you can do Epsom salts baths. Run the water as hot as you can take it adding 2-4 cups of the salts. Soak as long as desired. I will warn you and say that the salt will sting the area around the cyst, though I found it to be bearable. It was much less painful than the general pain from the cyst. You can also use it in conjunction with hemorrhoid wipes. I know that sounds rather strange, but the Witch Hazel in them helps to reduce the swelling. Just  take one and wipe it gently across the cyst several times a day. 
Now, please not that some cyst do go away on their own without any intervention, HOWEVER, any cyst that last more than a week or makes walking difficult will more than likely be infected. If that's the case you must seek medical attention. A doctor will be able to safely drain the cyst and will likely put you on an antibiotic course.
