What was your experience with Clomid? Good/Bad?

I just finished my first round of Clomid and thinking I should have waited till next cycle, as I go tomorrow for a saline ultrasound.

My RE doesn’t like clomid for women over 40 because he says that while it does produce follicles it messes with the hormonal balance and uterine lining making implantation less likely.  It can work...but is less effective for older women.  It’s cheap though so worth a shot for 2-3 cycles.

I did a round of Femara instead because I have a history of headaches. It did not affect my lining - it was optimal thickness at day 10.

Not sure how valuable this poll would be. Most respondents at TTC and various factors to consider for pregnancy. But good to know how ‘popular’ it is.

I’m starting my second cycle with Femara. No luck the first cycle. My doctor said with my age and my husband’s spent issues, we just have just under a 5% chance a cycle. My cycles are about 5 1/2 weeks each and I’m about to turn 38 and they said I have a low ovarian reserve. So, the clock is ticking. I’m trying to figure out if we can afford IVF. That’s what the fertility specialist really wants is to do.
