I have a very dear friend who has been through a couple rocky romantic relationships. Now she’s found a guy who has caught her eye. Now I feel as if every time she messages me it’s to tell me about her interactions with this guy. I want to be supportive of her.

It’s so hard though. Through text it’s so much easier to portray your emotions with emojis and fake enthusiasm with exclamation marks. I wish them the best. I truly do. I just feel I can’t express to her what has been going on in my life without the subject somehow turning back to this guy. She’s already decided she loves him and that in years to come she hopes he’ll say that she’s at home, waiting for him.
