HSG test?

Has anyone had an HSG test? After IUI #5 failed, I think that's my next step. I've heard of it helping to clear out tubes and ppl getting pregnant right away after. What can I expect?

At my clinic, it's protocol to do an hsg prior to any iui to ensure its not a wasted cycle. If your tubes are blocked, there is no point in doing an iui. I have done 11 IUI's and am now waiting for a laparoscopy and tubal dye test before deciding to move to ivf. Definitely go for the hsg! Knowledge is power! Good luck!

I had mine done last month. It wasn't comfortable, but not exactly painful (for me at least). I had slight cramping for about a week after. I'm now 8dpo and almost positive I'm pregnant, waiting a few days to test again.

I had an HSG a couple of weeks ago and it was not nearly as bad as I anticipated. I took a couple of Advil about 30 minutes before the test, but I don't even know if that was necessary for me! It was uncomfortable of course - I just experienced some minor cramping while the dye running through. No bleeding or leaking afterwards for me.  I think it helps if you are relaxed :)

I had an HSG in Jan. While it didn't feel good it wasn't nearly as bad as I had anticipated. The worst part for me was feeling the dye leak out after. I also got a Charlie horse in my calf during the procedure. That hurt worse. I also didn't have any blockages so that helps with the pain factor. Good luck!
