Hi All,

I had a 5d embryo transfer on 2/25. My first beta on 3/5, (8dp5dt) HCG was 188. On 3/7, (10dp5dt) it was 454. Obviously, HCG was high, and more than doubled, so everyone was happy with the results. Yesterday, 3/15 (18dp5dt) they had me do another beta (standard practice for my clinic) and the result came back at only 3497. According to my calculations, if it were to double every 48 hours, it should have been around 7300.

I spoke with my nurse earlier today, and she said it’s not what they were hoping for, but not to count it out. She said we’ll just have to wait and see at this point. I have an ultrasound next week 3/22, but I don’t know how I’m supposed to wait that long after bad news.

I also read on a couple different websites, that after 1200, HCG is only supposed to double every 72-96 hours, which makes me feel a little better, but nurse didn’t say anything about this.

Does anyone out there have any more info? Do your clinics do a third beta a week after the second? If so, what were your results and what did your doc say?
