A dumb question..

OK this is probably a silly question, please bear with me!!

My boyfriend and I had sex, and he came in me. I was supposed to start my birth control the following Sunday. Is there a possible way I could be pregnant, and would taking the birth control in any way mess the chances of pregnancy up? Thank you so much with any information!
