Benadryl, 6 weeks old???

Took my (almost) 6 week old son to the urgent care today for a cough, doctor said to give him Benadryl for it but didn’t state any dosage, and even then I’m not sure if I should give it to him??? What do you mommas think...

I wouldn’t.
I’ve always been told that newborns couldn’t have meds. For cough, our doc recommended  a cool mist humidifier. 
We were told to give benedryl at 7 months old for a very itchy rash. 6 weeks seems incredibly young. 
And also....benedryl for a cough?

Absolutely not.
Run a hot steam shower and sit in the bathroom. Try to loosen up the decongestion. Unfortunately they are too young to get any medicines.

No deff dont! use a humidifier and baby vicks. I had a dr. tell me that at walk in care with my daughter she was about 8 months. I asked the pharmacist she looked at me like I was crazy! She ended up asking who I saw and called the walk in about him.
