ex boyfriend confusion

so me and my ex boyfriend have dated twice. the first time was great and I genuinely knew his feelings were real. the second time, I felt like he just wanted sex bc the say he hmu I went over to his place and we "made up"😉. we broke up again after a week bc he was unhappy. so was I, but I was really trying to get through it because I wanted things to work out but it was obvious that he didn't really care and wasn't trying. today I went over to his house. at first we were just supposed to hang out as friends but we ended up having sex. he's moving to Phoinex next month. when I asked him what we were, he sort of avoided the question.
