Blanket in crib?

Question

Hello- just curious how many of you have your 1 year olds + sleep with blankets in their crib? My daughter is 13 months, I have started to let her sleep with a small elephant animal security blanket but haven’t given her a large baby blanket yet.  From my understanding they say it is ok to give them a blanket at 12 months?! Thanks!

My son is 13 months. My doctor said it was ok at 1 year. We put it on him when we put him down, but most of the time he throws it off in the night or uses as a pillow 😂

I’ve read hat as long as they are in the crib, they should not have blankets or loose items as they can get tangled in the slats. Even for very mobile kids. We are waiting until he is in a toddler bed and use sleep sacs in the meantime

My son has a knitted one! I feel better knowing it has Little “ holes” for breathing just In case! He does love snuggling with it! He also has an elephant stuffed animal he loves!

I've been putting an extra blanket on my baby girl at night for the last couple months. Her sleep sack just wasn't warm enough when we had a cold snap in January. She likes the extra warmth of the blanket. Also she uses a blanket at daycare for nap time

I have been naughty and doing it since 6 months.  But my son was able to stand and move around well.  It started as a breathable muslin and I would check every 2-3 hours.  He is a year old now and has a slightly warmer blanket now... he tends to sleep on TOP of it though 😅🤣

I gave our girl a blanket right after 12 months. She uses it to snuggle up with and sometimes like a pillow.

We use a sleep sac for our 13 month old. No plan or need for blanket until they are in toddler bed.

I haven’t yet. My daughter can walk and move well but I just don’t feel comfortable letting her sleep with a blanket yet. I’m thinking around 2 years old I will.

My son has been sleeping with a blanket and pillow since 11 months. He loves the ritual of it and loves to put his little head on the pillow and we wrap him up like a little burrito. Sleep sacks never worked f r us past 5 months, he was way to active and they caused more hazard than warmth from him standing up and tripping on them.
