Should I stop going to school, raise my 4 month old daughter, and work? Or Should i continue going to school and struggle while doing that and having a family?

Im moving in with my boyfriend/child’s father in about 3 months. Im in college now but i am just not into school like i used to be nor do i really have much time for it. I receive financial aid but it does not last very long considering bills, having a child, and other expenses. Im stuck between school and work. If i continue school, i will be struggling and very frustrated with it. If i stop school, i will be working and putting my daughter into daycare, but i will be bringing extra income in the house. What should i do?

Since you're not married, you basically have zero protection if you guys break up, besides child support. Do you have family you can fall back on if down the road the relationship fails? If not,  definitely invest time in school and your career, for your own long term protection.

Grind now so things are easier later. You can do this! Stay in school. Maybe lessen your school load? Do online classes? But do not stop, if you stop you might not go back.

I fought with this a while. But I decided to stick it out and graduate and let me tell you it was the best decision I could have made. I now work full time with full benefits, 23$ an hour and we are now buying a new home and we don’t stress about money at all, which is really new to us. We were used to going without for so long that we aren’t sure how to handle it now.

Stay in school, I studied with 2 under 2 and they are now 4.5 and 6 and it was the best decision I ever made. I am married but I could support myself and my family off just my income fairly comfortably if I needed to. I did get a very small amount of financial help (£30 a month!) because of low earning but have more than made up for that in tax now. Never feel guilty for trying to further your income and independence, even if you have to rely on help now

It’s difficult but it’s worth it to stay in school. I had my first as a junior in college. It was an extremely rough journey and money, patience and time will be tight. But when you graduate and you get to hold your baby and your degree it’s the most satisfying feeling in the world.

Where I live childcare can be almost as expensive as a part time job so compare the finances to see if it's even worth it. Consider also if you could get a better paying job with a college degree. Also if school doesn't interest you anymore, consider if you stuck it out and got a job if you'd like that job. You'll spend so much time there, it will suck to have a job you don't even like.

I've never been in a situation like this, but if you're not motivated in school take some time off from it. At least until you get used to the new stage that you are about to enter. Find a job so you can get around with bills and the stuff that the baby might need. Your bf should help with that too. Later on, you can go back to school. Perhaps take one or two online classes per semester. It will take longer to get a degree, but it will be worth it in the end. Good luck ❤
