Nuchal scan? NIPT? Or nothing?

Question

I’m torn! I didn’t know a whole lot about this before I got pregnant. Doctor needs me to decide ASAP and my husband and I are torn! 
Option A-Nuchal scan... but I’m not willing to risk miscarriage with the amniocentesis if the test comes out positive. Which this test has a high rate of false positives. And I don’t want to be worried for the rest of my pregnancy if it does come out positive. 
Option B- pay $500 to have a non- invasive  blood test done to see is there is any chance of any trisomy. I was told this is very accurate... but obviously still a chance of false positive. 
Option C- let nature take it course! 
I’m 29 so I know the chances are slim. But anything’s possible. What do you think?

I didn't do the test with my last baby who will be 2 in August and I am currently pregnant and am not doing any of those test with this one either. I found out my almost 2 year old had down syndrome at my 20 week scan and I did not care and to tell u what she is a blessing to have in our life she is so much fun and has so much personality it is crazy. I didn't have any factors either I would change it for the world

I believe testing is important regardless of your decision to abort. Children with Downs Syndrome have a higher chance of heart defects, and I'd want to know in advance in case surgery is needed. I wouldn't have an amnio done, but they at least know to get further testing on the heart eg fetal echo
If money isn't an issue, I'd personally do the nipt. It really gave me ease of mind. But if not, at least do the nuchal.

my Dr asked me what i would do if I found out my child had a chromosomal abnormalities. if I would keep the baby or abort. I said keep the baby.  so I myself went with C.  Dr said not to stress to much as in the end it's slim chance something would happen and if it does I shouldn't stress about it.  to me it's not the end of the world if my child had downs or autism or something else.  following pregnancy I'll choose the same route unless I'm antsy to find out gender early since option B allows that ussaully..

I did the nuchal scan with both of my pregnancies, they came back low risk so I opted for no more testing. I don’t see why you would pass it up if it’s covered by insurance...at best you get an extra ultrasound to see your baby out the deal, at worst you’ll find out sooner something that you will surely find out later. Doesn’t seem like any downsides to me.

We took the Nuchal scan only. My theory was if they were to say it looks abnormal, I would have then followed through with the NIPT. Because the reading looked normal we opted to not do anymore testing. She came out perfect, we will do the same for this one.

I had nipt testing done- expensive but figured I’m spending so much on other stuff I may as well fork out $450 for the test...

I would pay for the blood work. It’s always good knowledge to have. It gives you time to prepare and do some research IF is comes back with markers for Down syndrome or something else. Or for some people, it will let you decide if you want to terminate the pregnancy.

If you can afford 500 go for it, as it may put your mind at ease or let you prepare if it doesn't come our as expected. If you can't afford it, I would let nature take its course. Good luck with everything

All of those are covered by my insurance. Any genetic testing, prenatal screenings. I did the blood test but not amniocentesis. 
I would at least pay the $500 and get the blood test.
