Don't know how to feel about this breakup.

My boyfriend of three months left me because I got a tattoo. Yep, that's the legitimate reason. While I was gone to my tattoo appointment, he packed up all his belongings and left without a word to me. My sister texted me before I got home and told me that he left. I got home an hour later and, sure enough, he was gone. I was in shock and didn't know how to feel about it.

I know three months isn't a long time, but it feels so strange without him here. We are always together, unless we're at work, of course. It's been a few days and still no word from him. One of my girlfriends got in contact with him and he said he was staying in just out of state with one of his cousins.

If he decides to come back, I don't know if I would want to take him back. He was pretty controlling throughout our relationship and constantly going through my phone apps to see who I was talking to. That doesn't bother me though, I have nothing to hide from him. I didn't think that me getting a tattoo would push him to leave me though. I have quite a few body modifications and verbally told him before we were even dating that I wanted more, tattoos included.

So, I don't know what to do in this situation. He won't speak to me so I don't know his intentions on moving forward. Some advice and/or personal experiences would be greatly appreciated!
