are you staying home?

I'm curious to know after baby comes how many of y'all are going to be staying home or already at home moms? my husband and I decided financially wise it would be better for me to stay home since I have a 22 months son and my baby girl on the way and having no family near by makes it hard and especially day care so expensive!!!!

I’m going to be a stay at home mom ☺️ I’m done work in April 7th and I will be filing for maternity leave, finally 🙌🏻 we want to try for a girl in the future, I have two step kids but this is my first and our first together, so it’s just all around easier for everyone if I stay home.

I quit last Friday... with my now 5 year old and this one coming in June we decided it was best if I stayed home... trying to find someone to watch a new born in the small town we live in is impossible and none of the daycares(10 miles away) take infants... I’m just glad not to stress about who would watch them and pick them up every week.. my family helped but are less than dependable. I am so far glad with my decision. It would be so nice if I could find something that I could make money from home though. 😬

I am planning on being a stay at home due to my husband being deployed for 9 months when our son is just a month old and it’s saves us WAY more money for me to be home. All the money he is making during the deployment we are putting towards our first house.

this is a conversation we continue to have. I currently work part time, in a major metropolitan area and have struggled finding a full time job even with a bachelor's degree. It's hard to justify going back to work part time at a job that isn't productive. and I wouldn't be making enough to cover daycare expenses... But then my workplace has better health benefits than the hubby and well, I still have mountains of student loan debt. that unfortunately, I don't qualify for a lower payment... So we have to weigh daycare or nanny vs healthcare and debt expenses. It's been so hard on me since I always thought I'd be a working mom. But I just don't see the point in working part time...when it won't cover the cost of day care. ugh!! It's a hard decision!!

Fourth kid and I have always gone back to work. I love my career and although I joke about wanting a nanny, it works well for us. Lil kids go to at home daycare, big kids in school and old enough to be home after school.

Yup! I have a 17 month old I stay home with, and will stay home with this one as well! There are more kids in the future and I’m planning to homeschool, so I’m home for the long run! I LOVE being a stay at home mom, house wife etc!!!!!!!!!

I currently work as a nanny and plan to go back to work after three months. The great thing is that two days per week I will take my daughter with me and three days a child will be dropped off at my home. Best of both worlds...being with my child and making some money (albeit not quite as much as I’m used to). I also run a nanny placement business on the side. I started my hiatus from that the other day and I hope to start back up in the fall, but we’ll see how things progress after baby.

I own a business I’ll only be able to take 8 weeks off. Then back part time in August. Full time in November. :/
