Would a coil iud help like plan b?

A week ago I had sex w/ my boyfriend and he was stupid enough to put it back in after he came Bc “he cleaned it” which is really fucking stupid of him to do. I forgot about it until I realized that I was supposed to get my period on Saturday, todays the third day of me missing it and I’ve been having really bad heart burns or chest burns for these three days. If I get a coil IUD, say I’m pregnant, would that be able to stop the pregnancy?

OK, so the IUD will not stop or end a pregnancy, but it can prevent pregnancy from happening. 
As soon as a hormonal IUD is inserted, it is effective. So if you already are pregnant, there’s nothing to do about it. But they will test for pregnancy before inserting the IUD and will not let you have it if you are pregnant. 
However, if you get the copper IUD, it will not instantly be as effective, therefore would not recommend that one as a Plan B. Also, I would not recommend getting an IUD as a solution for unprotected sex, I would get Plan B and think through a decision that lasts about five years. IUDs are awesome though! I love them though!

I was under the impression that the paraguard was effective immediately after insertion. And idk about being an alternative to plan B but I know it works because it causes an uncomfortable environment for your uterus to support growth, meaning eggs won’t attach to your uterine walls because the copper makes your body think it’s an unsafe environment for a fertilized egg to develop. 
Buuuuut I’ve also heard a lot of stories where women have still gotten pregnant while on the Paraguard IUD.
