Buying used makeup?

My mom taught me there are certain things you don't buy used:
1) makeup
2)shoes
3)undies

What are your thoughts?

Honestly... Depends on the makeup, and who I buy it from. Eyeshadow, lipstick ( regular kind ),brushes, blush can be disinfected. Lipgloss or any lipstick that comes with a Applicatior, mascara, eyeliner , and things like that can not and is yucky. Everything else is a yuck no for me, esp underwear. I don't even buy used bathing suits.

undies-- ew no never, you dont know if that person got something, shoes--- ive bought them from second hand stores and they typically are alright, and cheaper! makeup preused....ehhhh it would have to be from a close friend
