When baby likes to touch the boob.

Question

So I TMI’d this because my areola is showing, I used to exclusively pump and she loved holding the bottle even at a few weeks old, now she loves her hands either grabbing my tank top or touching my boob. We’ve been exclusively breastfeeding for about 3 weeks now and it’s going pretty damn well. No psych meds for 12 months and Newborn growth spurts, and I’m still doing good.

Amazing!! Also, it’s completely normal for babies to fiddle with everything while nursing. Some babies even hold the opposite nipple lol. 
I can’t remember why but I think it’s something with developmental. Babies are more relaxed while nursing & fiddling with a necklace or blanket tho.

grabbing the boob or other things around is extremely common and can be pretty sweet :) however, don't be surprised if it turns into patting, pinching, flailing, scratching and hitting. They often go for the face and hair too, and before a year or even later it is really difficult to explain to your baby that it is wrong. Please know, it is just exploring and isn't just trying to piss you off. Gently disengage and move on. Much stength and sweet cuddles to you, mama :)

great job,  i breastfeed till my babygirl turned 1. she is about to be 2 next month,  and till this day she cant sleep without grabbing my boob. but i get it. she was so used to being there, i dont breastfeed anymore, bUT i think it's a way for her to feel closer to me while she falls asleep. ♥
