When did milk start coming in

Question

I don’t think I’m producing enuff milk ! I’m only two days postpartum but only pump about 15 ml per pump.  My nipples r cracky and sore. I think takes a few days but I’m getting discouraged. Anyone have this

not sure if this is true but I read that in the beginning, pumping isn't an accurate way to judge supply. also women have said that demand increases supply and that putting baby to your breast to nurse will increase supply faster/better than pumping. I'm not sure because I'm only 18 weeks pregnant now.. just doing some reading!

my milk came in on day two. the thing I learnt was you really need to trust your body. it's so easy to think that they're not getting enough but as long as they're getting through their nappies you have to relax. your body is made for this and knows what its doing! just keep feeding your baby at every opportunity.

Lanolin is your best friend when breast feeding. Mine came in about day 2-3 but I pumped after nursing to help boost supply and give me some back stock for when I went back to work

I think everyone goes through this!! My milk didn't come in until day 5! I had to supplement with Enfamil until then, so that is an option, but don't give up!! What you're going through is very normal. And coconut oil and Lanolin saved my nipples from feeling like they were going to fall off, haha

This is interesting! I was just asking my sister as I'm due to pop today and my boobs haven't even gotten firm. Wondered when you start producing milk.

I was pumping my breast a couple days before my due date to get me into labor. Idk if it helps but I got milk out after I kept doing it every couple hours. Don’t worry they’re stomach are super small to begin with! Don’t give up! You can do it. I was really close to giving up around two weeks but I’m really glad I stuck with it considering my baby girl won’t take a bottle...

It took me about a week after my daughter was born, but we weren't able to really try breastfeeding until she was 2 days old. And try coconut oil or lanolin on your nipple and the pump flange before you pump to decrease the soreness and cracking. Good luck!

It can take up to a week.  Mine was about 4 days.  Baby doesn’t need a lot. Their tummies are very small at that point that way they eat so often.

It took close to 2 weeks for my milk to come in. Before that I just had blood coming out of my ducts. Not fun.
