Hubby is a Correction Officer for a Federal Prison here in OH. He works long hours and sometimes gets double and triple mandated to 16 hr shifts. Coming off of a 16hr mandation, he told me that instead of going out, he wanted to do something special for me for date night.

I came home to a brand new vanity (his way of getting all of my makeup crap out of the bathroom,) two dozen pink and white roses, and special pink moscato/vodka sangria. While I was sipping on that, he was in the kitchen making an amazing dinner. Mind you, I don’t typically let Hubby in the kitchen, so it was so odd that he went out of his way to find the recipe for Rosemary Lambchops, cheddar bacon mashed red potatoes, and green beans. We ended the night watching Thor: Ragnarok snuggled on the couch. Best date night ever!

When I was a girl I never thought I’d find my dream guy. I struggled with self-esteem issues and being a “big girl,” and wondering if I’d ever find someone to love me for me. When I met him, it was like the Universe conspired to bring us together. Had any one detail gone different in our lives, we would’ve never met. He is honest, loyal, compassionate, and my absolute best friend. I love this man more than life itself.
