chemical pregnancy now my cycle is wonky

I had a chemical pregnancy back in February. Had my normal period but came 3 days early. Stopped after 5 days. Then 3 days later was bleeding heavy again. That lasted 4 days. I went to the Dr and they did blood work. My levels were 6 then tested again went down to 1. My Dr wanted me to get blood tested again because they said my levels should be under 2. Uh they were so I didn't go back. They also said I need to wait till my next period to try again. Well I never got my period since. I tested with a pregnancy test and it was negative. Yesterday I had egg white cm so I tested with a opk. 2 positive lines so my husband and I baby danced. Am I wrong to go against my Dr's orders? What's the point in waiting? I'm kinda thinking my Dr isn't great.
