When doctors don’t know a lot about infertility?

Question

I’m hearing a lot of stories about how women with infertility issues go to their doctors and only hear words like “you will never be able to have children”. And they end up pregnant a year later. What is you ladies opinions on this? Are doctors more educated about infertility than they use to be? My mother was one of those who was told they couldn’t  have children, and here I am!

I would trust my doctors professional opinion due to the fact they they went to college for a decade to learn medicine. Not everything is set in stone and even a doctor cant predict exactly what your body will do.

After an emergency surgery for internal bleeding, ripped a hole in my right ovary, in 2011 I was told it would take a miracle to get pregnant. We had already been trying for a year at that point so it was disheartening to hear. Not a solid it'll never happen, but a for sure it's going to be much harder. Managed to get pregnant naturally in 2015 and miscarried. Finally got pregnant again, naturally, July 2017. I'm due with our rainbow in 10 days. So they were right, it was a lot harder to get pregnant, but somehow someway here we are. Lots of heartbreak along the way but it's been worth it all.

Most people say that they have certain percentage chance to get pregnant- like 1% or some other %. then they get pregnant and say that doctors don’t know what they’re talking about when actually they were lucky to fall into 1%. Misdiagnosing is quite rare where I live.

Hi I was told in 2012 that I could no conceive four to fluid blocked tube told me I would have to have it removed and ivf was the only option well in September I asked for a retest has I started having periods again the blocked tube is now unblocked waiting now to get hormone levels correct and trying to conceive so glad I kept my tube after all.
