Yes. I read that and automatically thought of my ex. He was my first love, we’re both engaged to different people now but still major parts of each others lives. 
We used to go through times when we’d fight bc we were adjudicating to being friends and jealous of each others “replacements” so we’d stop talking for months and then pick right back up. Eventually we had a long talk and were able to have closure and now it’s strictly a friendship.
