Boarding School

My boyfriend and I have been dating for about 9 months now and next year he is going to boarding school and I don't know what to do. He's my best friend and I trust him and we have a very honest and caring relationship, but im scared I'm just going to miss him too much or he'll move on to someone else. He promised he would never but I'm still concerned and I hear people saying all the time that long distance never works out and I just wanted to know if u guys had any thoughts on how I should handle things and how we could stay together.
