Is it weird to wear a pad in your bathing suit when your at the beach on your period?

This week I am on spring break and we are going to the beach( haven’t been since I was 5 I’m 19 now) Thursday and I just started my period today. I want to wear my bathing suit just to tan and take pictures cause I won’t be able to get in the water but worried about wearing a pad with my bathing suit.
