My husband and I are 23, and before we even hit our one year mark of marriage I had a stroke, (which involved occupational therapy to regain the use of my left arm and left side of my face and vocal cords) a heart surgery, and a PCOS diagnosis. He has been absolutely amazing through this entire hellish turn of events. In the beginning I was still in shock that I could have easily died and working through the fact that I was trapped in my own body that I didn’t realize how it had affected him - until I noticed a change in his sleep. My hubby is a DEEP sleeper.

I on the other hand, can feel the slightest difference in temperature and freaking wake up.

Ever since my stroke, he will partially wake up in the middle of the night and just start mumbling my name and how much he loves me. He’ll reach for me and pull me to him. And then be back to a deep slumber. This is huge considering that he is usually dead to the world when he’s out.

It’s tragically the sweetest freaking thing of my life. He’s been my rock through this whole thing- always supporting me, never complaining about the hardships any of it has brought and the poor man is so shook by it all his subconscious is like “it’s 4:25 am- better let your wife know that you love her, just in case”.

Life can be so freaking hard, and I’m so glad that I married my best friend. I wonder what I ever did to deserve him. ❤️❤️❤️
