Uhh help!

So I just recently got off my birth control and my doctor told me he'd get me a new one and he told me to make an appointment when my period started again...it's been 2 months and I haven't had a period I'm starting to freak out. Me and my boyfriend stopped using condoms awhile ago and use the withdrawal method. I took a test after the first missed period and it was negative. So should I take another one or no?
