Contractions when going to the bathroom??

Question

This may be a dumb question as I'm a FTM. I have been having contractions on and off and lost my mucus plug about a week ago. I went to the OB this week I was 2 cm dilated and 80% effaced. Recently every time I either pee or have a bowel movement I have intense painful contractions. I'm not constipated because my stool is relatively soft. Am I the only one who has experienced this or no??😭

Go more often! Contractions are one of baby's ways of talking to you, and a full bladder will crowd their space! Also, the toilet is a very conducive labor position, which helps baby get into the position where it will cause more/stronger contractions. A lot of women find the toilet is a very comfortable place to labor!

Yep me too, but I’m not sure why. I get a menstrual type cramp/tightening in my back after emptying my bladder. 35 weeks now, I’d say it’s getting more intense.

I have that too, particularly if I have a really full bladder right after I owe I will get period like cramps. I'm 36 +3 and don't think I've lost my mucus plug yet. Hopefully it's normal!
