Very simple, go to babies r us and look for the create a registry button. It will even give you a sample or " most common items " moms favorites. It's pretty self explanatory once you sign up for it. Good luck

I used Babylist (babyli.st or babylistregistry.com) for my registry. It let's me put all sorts of things from various websites and stores. It even gives my guests a way to compare prices at different stores.

I do recommend that you treat your registry like a shopping list for yourself. If there's something you wouldn't spend for your baby, I wouldn't put it on there. Most guests at baby showers don't follow registries anymore. I don't do babies r us because I think they are expensive.

Here's some ideas to look for (these were useful to me). Have fun :)

Cloth diapers/disposables.
Wipes.
Breast pads for leaks.
Baby wrap (moby, ring slings etc.)
Buckle carrier (ergo, boba etc.)
Nipple cream for cracks. (Or just coconut oil!)
Lansinoh 3 in 1 breast therapy packs (they heat up, I loved them).
Bamboobies also makes heat up packs (and reusable pads for leaks).
Breast milk storage bags.
Diaper rash creams.
Bath time soaps.
Lotions.
Muslin swaddle blankets (Aden + Anais, so my favorite).
Socks.
Everyone will want to get you newborn sized clothing, also ask for 0-3, 3-6, and 6-9 outfits.
Nursing tanks and bras (they sell them at babies r us and like minded stores).
Lactation teas (also sell them at above stores).
Nose Frieda (coolest and most effective nose sucker I've ever used!)
Extra crib sheets (those blow outs are serious lol).
A breastfeeding pillow.
A swing.
Rock n' play.
Play mat.
Books.
Toys.

I loved doing it online to read reviews and research - you really miss that in store! then afterwards we went to the store to check a couple items in person like the stroller and pack and play.

I personally think it is easier to create a registry in the store. That way you can look up close at the items and find the ones you like best. I highly recommend registering for a sound machine for the nursery and one that attaches to the car seat.

I made mine with my registry.com you can add any thing  from any site you want it's cool since I found stuff I like on many sites  they also show you what other mom are adding as well so you can get all kinds ideas

I looked on babylist and they had questions for me to answer and sent an email list of suggestions, which was nice. Questions about living situation or plans for feeding, etc. BabyList also lets you register for stuff from a variety of stores and has cool suggestions but I haven't created mine yet or know how easy it'll be for family to use. 2nd trimester starts Monday so maybe I'll get going next week :)
