How long is it okay to keep a tampon in?

I have these super tampons that will literally last me like 10 plus hours. I know there’s this shock syndrome that can be life/limb threatening so I’m wondering if I should be more aware. I just sometimes forget I have one in then I’m like SHIT ITS BEEN LIKE 10 HOURS

If you can wear a super tampon for 10 plus hours then that is probably too big of a size for you. 
You should really only keep it in for like 2-4 hours. But you can for up to 6 or 8
