implantation bleeding or really light period?

So AF is about 4 days late now , but about 3 days ago i had the tiniest bit of spotting ? my periods are pretty steady 4 days long with medium flow.. havent taken a test yet.. we have been ttc for about a year now. any ideas what it could be?

Periods can very depending on stress, diet or for unknown reasons even if you’ve al ays had a regular on time monthly. Usually if the bleeding happens after 7-12 DPO it’s not implantation and even know my period are regular and on time I’ve had a period or 2 when stressing that was late and only spotting. My guess would be if your tests are negative it’s a late irregular period but a dr can confirm by doing a beta test good luck
