L&D Nurse?

I have some questions!
What do Labor & Delivery Nurses do?
How much do they make an hour and a year? 
What are shifts like? 
What else do I need to know?
I’m already going to school to become a nurse but I have decided this is a position I mighy be interested in.

its completely dependent on where you work and what state your in and how much expetience you have
different hospital have different scheduling some do 12 hr shifts some do 8 hr shifts

12 hour shifts, and the pay depends where you live. I work at a “Woman and Babies” hospital, so the pay for L&D; nurses is about the same for all other nurses.

I kinda used to know someone who worked as a L&D; nurse. Depends on the hospital I think. She works 3 days a week in a row 12 hour shifts. 
Other than that no clue.
