When do you start to use opks?

How many days after your last clomid pill do you start to use opks?

I take clomid CD 5-9, my doctor told me standard procedure is to start taking OPKs on CD 12 and start having sex every other day starting 5 days after my last pill. but I have short cycles so I started OPKs on CD 10 and start having sex every other day once I finish clomid. 
my first cycle I ovulated on CD 14 instead of CD 12 (my usual on a 26 day cycle), I haven't ovulated yet this month and I'm on CD 11.

I did Femara, not Clomid, but my provider said to start taking OPKs on day 10. She also said to start BDing on day 10 and do it every other day.

I've been told wait three days street last pill then start opking. I'm on cd7 and took clomid cd2-6. good luck!
