Can I start taking Clomid 6 months before TTC?

I have irregular periods (just got off Provera )and I don’t ovulate every month. I will be TTCing in 6 months (already taking prenatals). My question is, can I start taking clomid for 6 months prior to conceiving.

You're only supposed to take Clomid for 6 consecutive months.  Taking it before ttc would be a waste.

If you take more than 6 consecutive rounds of Clomid, it may increase risk of ovariam cancer. Only take durimg months you are actually ttc.
