Epidural or No Epidural?

Question

Never used the epidural but had my mother who was the best "wanna be midwife and support system" for all 3 of my full term deliveries. Delivered my stillborn a month after my mom passed last year...I did not have an epidural but only needed to dialiate to 5cm. This little rainbow baby is 5 weeks from her due date and I'm getting nervous about the pain and pain management without my mom's support! RIP Mom 4-12-2017

I'm sorry for your loss. My advice would be to go in with an open mind. Know that you've done it before and your mom is still with you. If the pain both emotional and physical becomes too great, allow yourself to ask for relief. As long as baby comes into the world happy and healthy, there's no wrong way to do it.
