On March 19 I was informed my father had passed away unexpectedly. I took it kinda hard and went to the hospital to make sure my baby was ok. He was so I went home and then I realized I wouldn’t be able to make it to the funeral since I was 39 and 2 days. I called my doctor and asked to be induced and she said they could induce me on the 21st. I went in the morning and they sent me home because they had no rooms available, told me they would call me back at 7:30pm. By 4 pm I started getting contractions but they weren’t close together went to the hospital at 7:30pm to get induced and they had as wait because they were still cleaning our room. As I’m sitting there the contractions are stronger and I tell my mom “mom tell them to hurry I need an epidural” she tells the nurse and the nurse comes out and says “give me 5 mins are you sure you are laboring?” I said yes I have a history of fast labors and last time I couldn’t get the epidural because he came so fast she listened to me prepared everything and by the time I got in the room around 8pm she had the anesthesiologist there asking me questions and taking out blood for the blood count for the epidural. They finally checked me and I was 5 cm and after to got the epidural an hour later I was 8cm and an hour after that they came to rupture my water but it was already ruptured and they checked me and I was ready to push. I pushed for 20 mins and out he came into this world at 12:46 am March 22, 2018 weighting 7 pounds 3 oz. he didn’t rip me or hurt me at all. was the easiest birth I’ve ever had was born in 4 hours thank goodness. When they told me to push I wasn’t even sure I was doing a good job I felt like I was just holding my breath lol but now I am happy I will get to make it to my fathers funeral with my son
