I just wanted to share my story. It may be a little long so apologies. After only 3 months of trying I fell pregnant. We were delighted. Sadly I had a missed miscarriage and was advised to have a d&c.; I was so overcome with grief I didnt think of what if anything could go wrong so I made the appointment for 2 days later. Fast forward 2 weeks post d&c; and I brought up to my obgyn a possible luteal phase defect. He was so dismissive, saying that it was super rare and maybe I just wasn't counting correctly !!! Anyway I pushed for testing (took a while ) and low and behold I have a luteal phase defect of low progesterone. This could have caused the mmc, we will never know. Fast forward another few months and I still didn't have a period. Obgyn just put me on clomid to make me ovulate and hoped for the best. It didn't work, tried me on femara, it worked but no pregnancy and still NO period. By this point I decided to see an RE as I was concerned I may now have scarring in my uterus. Again I was told that this was very un common and to wait for my period to return. So here I am now 6 months post d&c;, still no period and my RE has found i do have scarring in my uterus and i will need surgery to remove it. My advice to anybody ttc is to believe your gut instinct and push for answers. I should never of had the d&c; at only 8 weeks and this is what's caused my scarring, also referred to as ashermans syndrome, the silent syndrome. Ironically my procedure will be done the same week I was due to give birth. End of one chapter and start of a new one ❤️❤️
